Fushcia help?
Question:I live in a very shady area in Pennsylvania. I was told Fushcias like shade. However, I have tried everything and cannot get the plant to bloom anymore. The leaves appear very healthy and there are lots of buds, but no blooms. Need more sun?
Answers:
Hello! If your fuschia's are alive, then you are doing great! They need fertilizing every two weeks to keep them blooming. Try Super Bloom - which has a high middle number - that promotes your bloom factor - it is 12 - 55 - 6.
Also, too much sun or hot weather will weaken the plant and the flowers will not develop properly. Sometimes they will struggle with bloom production when the weather reaches above 80 degrees. I have had some that completely quit blooming during the months of July and August and then BURST open in September. Sounds like that could be your issue - have patience, they will bloom - especially since you are seeing buds.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Go to your local plant shop and tell them your problem. Since they live in your area and are plant experts they should give you a very good solution. You may just need to wait a little bit for them to bloom. Fushcias usually take awhile.
if the fuchsia is in complete shade,it need's more light.if you have a place that get's a few hours of morning sun, that will help. if you give it a drink of fish fertilizer every other week.that will help too.if you use a blooming fertilizer, you have a big risk of burning your plant. it sounds like your fushcia is doing good any way if it has lot's of buds.they will pop open soon-don't worry.you are doing great!
I have a Fuchsia for about four years now , I keep mine in a partial sun area , I have bloom on it every year so far .
Once a month I feed it with Miracle Grow and she seem to love the bust. During the Winter months we keep our plants in a heated garage and give them a little water to keep them alive ,no draft allowed!

I use to keep mine in the sun , either afternoon or morning , but leep in mind where you hang it . The bee's love those type of flowers .I kept mine away from the patio.
