I doubt you have seen the last of your catnip.
Mine grows back every year in different spots even though its not really wanted.
I ripped it out one year and POOF. Its back!
I guess they reseed themselves pretty good. Buy another plant if you like but I will bet you a cup of coffee you will have her return next year or maybe even latter in the season after your cat has forgotten all about it.
Maybe put your catnip in a hanging basket so it can thrive without the animals molesting it. It can cast off seeds for plants on the ground next year?
How about that?
You are drowning it.Those sort of plants need very little water. You only water when soil is dry.Give it one good water, then leave for about a week. Good Luck!
Hon, it died because it was deprived of its leaves, and it was undoubtedly by neighborhood cats!
I grow catnip for my own kitties in my herb garden, but all the neighbor kitties like it as well, and were eating it down to the ground. I made a small circular fence, about two feet tall, of rabbit wire (available at hardware stores) then placed it over the catnip. Now, the catnip grows through the wire a bit, allowing all the cats to get a taste of it, but without destroying the entire plant. And I have plenty left to dry for my cats' wintertime enjoyment! :)
i like to eat everyday. it keeps me alive. plants only ask for water, sunshine, no frost, they don't ask for much. just a little care everyday. don't overdo the watering, or you will drown them. maybe search the internet for catnip plant care. that should help you in the future.
