Help..my rose...?

Question:The new leaves are coming out deformed with brown around the edges. What is this and what do I do?

Answers:
do you have a sprinkler system installed around it? do you water the leaves of the plant when you water it? If that's the case, then that would be your problem. You want to only get the roots when you water roses, otherwise something like what you have going on will happen. I believe its called "black-spot" or something like that.

In addition to possibly watering differently, you may want to try putting bone meal around the roses. It smells to high heaven, but they like it a lot.

roses are very tempermental plants and i've found they're hard totake care of. You seem to have it covered. Good luck!

Deformed leaves are often caused by an environmental issue rather then a disease issue. Have they inadvertently been in contact with an herbicide? Has anyone anywhere near your neighborhood been spraying for weeds? Could they have been frost nipped early in the season? If this is the cause, there really is not much you can do this year. Next year they should come back normal.
