What is the best thing to use for privacy along my fence?

Question:I have a smaller back yard and I want to do something along my fence for privacy. I live in Dallas, Texas. I am trying to find something cheap and low maintenance. Plus other houses share my fence so I don't want something that will grow all into their yard. Thanks!

Answers:
If you are looking for a privacy screen hedge, try the leyland cypress. It is an evergreen tree that grows up to 3 feet a year. If you are looking for a vine to cover your chain link, then either plant the evergreen carolina jessamine, which has fragrant yellow flowers in the early spring, or go ultra cheap and plant morning glory seeds at the base of your fence. They bloom all summer, die completely back in the winter, but return the next spring from seed. Have fun & Good Luck!
