If you were about to mow your lawn on the weekend, and a kid comes up and says he will do it for some money,?
Question:how much would you pay him?
Answers:
20 bucks an hour if he does a good job and doesnt work deliberatley slow. Jims charges 40 bucks to do our tiny little lawn but they bring their own stuff and clean up afterwards. I cant give a flat rate cos i dont know how big your lawn is.
5 quid
depends on how old he is probably 20 or 15 bucks
It all depends on gas prices, acreage, temperature, and how bad you really want to do it.
to me it depends on how old the kid is, if he is using my equipment and the going rate in the area. $20.00 is always a good starting point.
If you pay this kid for work done on your property, you are opening yourself to potential litigation. Hire from a temporary employment agency by the hour and save yourself the hassle. Then you can tell the kid that because lawyers and bureaucrats have taken over this country you can't hire him to do a simple job that we took for granted when we were kids.
I should first talk with the kid and with some interviews on why he needs money. After seeing how badly he needs my help and support, I will let him do the mowing of my lawn and pay him not less than US$50. Aside from that, I will give him some food or some giveaways like clothes.
It would depend on the size of the yard.
As another poster pointed out, America is the "land of the lawsuit". I would not let a kid use my lawnmower. If I wanted to help a neighborhood kid out by giving him a few bucks for a chore, I would say, "I like to mow my own yard, but I hate picking up branches", have him pick up the branches in my yard (I counted my trees once--15 of em) for about an hour and give him $10. If, however, you still want the kid to mow your yard, $10-15 an hour is a good starting price.
