How do you kill quaking aspen trees?

Question:Our neighbors removed their quaking aspen trees, but we still have all the shoots coming up in our lawn. Anyone know how to kill the shoots?

Answers:
The best control is to spray the leaves of shoots with Round-Up. Be sure that you get the most concentrated type. Spray the leaves well (Round Up will then go down and kill the roots). Be sure to use a shield (a piece or cardboard or a large funnel will work) to protect other plants and as much of your lawn as you can.

Do NOT try to dig up the roots as most aspens will sucker if their roots are cut or disturbed!
