When can Grass seed, be used to grow?

Question:I have a long lawn and the grass has green seed things in it. (the dart things you throw into peoples hair) If I was to pick these and plant them would they grow into more grass?

Answers:
yes. they will grow if the seed reaches maturity (dries out), but don't bother picking them.. just cut your grass and don't bag it. the seed will settle to the ground and will grow when conditions are right.
