I have a alovera plant that has a real long stem that is out growing the planter.?

Question:Can I replant and bury the stem? What should I do to keep the plant healthy?

Answers:
Aloe has got to be about the hardest plant to kill LOL. You can transplant it into a larger pot with no problem. Just put it into a pot with some fresh potting soil, a little bit of pearlite (if you want), and I always give my plants a shot of miracle grow when I transplant. If it has smaller shoots on it you can break them off into smaller plants in other pots and have some more plants from it too to give away to friends or keep for yourself. That is the greatest thing about gardening , Sharing plants!

Replant the whole plant. If you have lots of small ones of the sides you can separate those and make several plants. I would not recomment burying the long stem just get a larger pot. Aloe vera plants are very easy to keep healthy. Just give them them water (doesnt take a lot) and some light. Maybe a little fertilizer now and again.
It's a stem, right? Not a leaf? If it's a stem then your Aloe is flowering! I have only had one plant in many years that has ever flowered! You must be doing something right.
