Miniature Rose Problem... help.?

Question:I have several containers of mini roses on my front porch and I noticed when I went out yesterday that my cream colored buds and opening buds had huge holes in the sides and it looked like someone had dug the insides out. all of the centers of my buds are gone... any ideas what could be doing this and how to fix... I looked and didn't see any bugs or disease.. I have lots of buds, no leaf spot and they are growing great... just looks like something ate the center of my flowers.

Answers:
That's the work of an insect. Could be beetles, but I suspect thrips because they seem to prefer the lighter colored rose buds and because the damage sounds just like thripe damage. Here is a site that can help you identify the problem.

bug problem, at least that is what i think it is because what else could be doing this. Unless you have a neighbor who hates the center of roses or an annoying kid down the street that wants to play a trick on your roses this is all i could think of.....GOOD LUCK
