In Texas what is good type soil to plant nursery caliber flower seeds?

Question:I've tried miracle grow potting mix and it seems to have too many sticks to work well. Soil mixture goes to the bottom. What can I buy?

Answers:
I'm not sure what you mean by 'nursery caliber' flower seeds, but it really shouldn't make a difference. You need to look for a mix specifically for seed starting - your local nurseries should carry it. Stay away from 100% peat (hard to keep moist). What are you putting the soil in?

Walmart carries a generic top soil (or potting soil for that matter) that I have had success with.
