Answers:
Russian Vines aren't designed to be grown in pots, if you can move it into the ground it may recover but dying from the roots up sounds like it might be a more serious problem. Try planting it out but beware, if it does survive you'll need to keep control of it, they grow very fast.

these are quick growing plants that go mad when let loose. it will die in a pot. put in the ground. feel and water. cut it back. will be ok.
give it a shot of vodka that seems to help most Russians!
Sometimes called the "Mile a Minute Vine" because it grows so quickly and covers everything, but it does like a lot of root run.
Check to see that there aren't vine weevils chewing away at its roots - tiny white grubs.
Replant in open ground if possible.
I certainly would not feed it with Miracle Grow. It grows fast enough without it, hence the name Mile a Minute. As suggested before plant it straight into the ground, and check its growth very regularly.
Boiled alive in a pot. Move to shade, cut back to live wood, don`t overwater.
Don't feed it too much maybe once every two weeks move it into the soil it will do much better with the nutrients of the soil rather than in a pot. good luck anyway xx
Russian Vine is also called Mile a Minute plant so that should tell you it is a very vigorous grower. Perhaps a pot is just too small for it. Consider putting it in the soil, if not feed. feed, feed and water.
It is probably root bound it needs a bigger pot or the pot needs more soil in it for the roots to spread.

The other name of russian vine is Mile a Minute you can almost see the healthy plants growing.
