Where can I buy a metal fire pit / fire ring like they have at campsites in National Parks & National Forests?
Question:I'd like to install one of these in my yard. (I live in the mountains, so it's allowed.) I'd like to do this for my hubby for Father's Day, so I'm in a bit of a hurry. I'd really like a no frills, solid metal ring, like the ones used at campsites and picnic areas and such. Any idea where I could buy one??
Answers:
if you're in the United States, Tractor Supply Company (a chain store) sells them. If you local store does not have them, they will order them for you.
I realize these are deceptively difficult to locate given how simple they are. I looked for over a year until I found that TSC carried them. Do not buy them on-line. Not only will they likely be way overpriced, but the shipping will be very expensive. Also, don't give in an buy one of the decorative rings. They tend to rust easily.
truck tire shop, they are from truck tires
Why not call the park and ask them.

On Father's Day, give him a green stick and a bag of marshmallows, and keep it a surprise until you get the ring installed. Keep him guessing!
Around here they have them at Home Depot and Menards
Try your local culvert shop. Sounds crazy but they can cut you a 1-2 ft length of 36" or 48" metal culvert and then roll one edge. The rolled edge is the side not buried so it's smooth and nice to look at.
It's quick cheap and easy to install.
