How would I build a gravel path on a slope of earth quite a steep slope?

Question:I need to know what to put under gravel and whether it would be feesible as it will slope about 3foot deep. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Answers:
The only way to keep stones in place on a slope that steep would be to make wide steps. Divide your path by using wood (sleepers logs etc) and lay gravel in the bed of each step. Its a good idea to nail some chicken wire onto wood to stop them becoming slippery. You could use edging slabs or other ornamental concrete edgings too.

Glue is the answer..
run wire netting all the way down the path before you put the gravel down
Have you looked on the link below this should send you on your way to building the perfect path
very carefully...you don't want that gravel rolling down the slope
if its that steep why don't you tier it
What you need to do is dig it out a little bit and make you you lay down some sand box sand. After that you can lay down some of your gravel, but now you have to roll some kind weight over it. You have to push this gravel in. This is a great start now each time you lay some more down, make sure you roll over it again. You will be able to see that it is sticking and it will be a great base.
