Do hibscus trees do well in michigan?

Question:

Answers:
Hibiscus Trees are Hardy to zone 9. Michigan is zone 3-6 so no, it wouldn't do well. If you are in lower Michigan, you might try a Rose of Sharon, which is the same family as the Hibiscus (Mallow) but is hardy in zones 4-9. If your in the Upper Peninsula even Rose of Sharon will not be hardy for you. The Hardy Hibiscus is not tree form, and will die back to the roots in the winter in Michigan, but will come back from the roots (once again, not in the U.P.) Good Luck
