What is the best thing to do with grass clippings?
Question:I'm a new homeowner, and I'm not sure what to do with the grass clippings from my lawnmover...
Also what is the best way to mow the lawn...any special techniques?

Please don't burn it is bad for the ozone. If you can buy a mulching lawn mower. It will recycle it back into your yard and you don't have to do anything else. Also if you miss a spot it doesn't show if you have to go back over it. I like to mow once a week or ten days, it keeps it from being to thick.
If you have a garden, put the grass clipping between the planting rows. It keeps the weeds down. For that matter, you can put the clippings anywhere you don't want weeds to grow. Or you can dump them in a pile and make a compost pile.
I have two answers
One: I use a mulching mower and as long as I mow once a week I do not have to worry about the clippings.
Two: You can buy a com-poster and empty the clippings into it. This requires a little more work, which I avoid because I am naturally lazy.
If you have a bigger yard, which is how I actually do things. I have a wooded section which I have as a compost area. I use a grinding machine to reduce the material and I spread it out. This included leaves grass and small twigs and such. It works great and the soil is rich. I mostly dump grounded leaves as the mulching feature on my mower reduces the need to collect grass clippings.
I do not like self mulching mowers. You always see the clippings in the yard and they rob nitrogen from it making it less healthy.
For years, I have put the clippings bag on my beds. I try to keep them out of sight but in any case, it is good mulch and keeps the weeds down. I do not use it in a mulch pile because it clumps up and is very difficult to deal with.
When mowing the lawn, do not cut it too short in the summer or you can have spots that are week and die. Do not add nitrogen to the grass. It makes it greener for a time but weakens the root structure. A balanced fertilizer is best but water is most important.

Most lawn mowers are mulching mower, now. But if yours is not, just collect them and either start a compost plie or spead them around your plants in you garden.
Whatever you do..don't throw them in the trash.
Those clippings are valuable.
use them as mulch in your flower beds,, it will keep weeds down while feeding it.
I would grind it up in my hand and lay it around my garden for mulch
Use the grass clippings on a compost pile or around your plants.
Cut your grass in one direction one week and then the other way the next week.
