Aloe vera and Snake plant are really really easy. You divide the babies from the parent plant and then raise them as your own. You can grow begonia and geranium from seeds and use as houseplants year round. They are very bright and pretty.

Try a bananaplant,very big pretty leaves..very hardy .Mine is still going even with little light..please no direct sunlight!Give it a shot...ps water when dry.
