Sounds like heaven to me! If you can get to market fast enough, baby salad greens and baby veggies, specialty tomatoes and such, organically grown. Also fresh herbs. Are there any upscale restaurants or farmers markets in your area you can sell to? Otherwise, if you are going to do a roadside stand, then grow things like tomatoes, honeydew and chanterelle melons, delicata squash, carrots. Corn. well, in Iowa growing corn is like carrying coals to Newcastle! Everybody has corn. Takes up too much of your acreage to grow - truck your corn in.

Good luck!

Corn.Or corn for Milk Cows.
you could do very well if you put several thing's in and either pick them yourself, which is best and you don't have to pay anyone, thus, keeping all the profit,or you could do a u-pick garden. our experience with u-picker's is some people who live in town, bring their kid's and let them go crazy because they are on a farm, out of the city.they let their kids walk all over the place, and they ruin lot's of row's of thing's planted.and they don't pick clean! people love fresh green beans, corn ,beets, carrot's,potatoes. anything fresh. 5 acres is a good size garden.you can do very well!
Here in Indiana I know a guy who specializes in growing these "Extra Sweet Sweet Corns" and sells it at area roadside stands for a premium price.
Its possible you could find something like this to be a very profitable venture if you can locate your potential market in which to sell your sweet corn, and the responsible labor to make this happen.
Most any good selling vegetable crop would do well if you can establish a customer base.
Sweet clover for honey!

Get ya some honeybees, and raise a big crop of honey!

Mmm, mmm goood!

:)
Wind farm, no planting, weeding or watering. Just sit back with a cold beverage and watch them turn.
I would start buying and planting all kinds of fruit trees. Like peaches, appricots, apple, nut trees, lemon, cherry trees ect... They will eventually increase the value of the property and some rose bushes and large tropical plants like "giant birds of paridise" or palm trees. It will take a couple of years to grow but it will be worth it.
