First time growing broccoli..??

Question:this is my first time growing broccoli in my garden. I have already harvested the main floret on some of my plants (they were huge!..lol) will these plants still produce after the main floret has been cut or should I remove the plants? thanks for the help!

Answers:
Yes, you planst should still be able to produce florets. They may not get as large as the the florets you have harvested, but they should still produce.

Good luck.

Our broccoli is still producing. Sometimes we get another small main floret, but we are still getting small florets on each of the plants. Last year we harvested broccoli until around the first of July.
A lot of the "cole" plants like broccoli and cabbage will produce after the main head is harvested. For an extended cabbage crop cut the first cabbage off leaving as much of the stem as possible. Continue to water the stem and it will produce up to 4 baby cabbages after the main harvest. I've tried this and it works, and the smaller cabbages are more tender and tasty than the first.
