Can the dapple willow tree be re-rooted in the ground if you cut a piece off it to re plant elsewhere?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, willows are by far the easiest trees to root, even without rooting hormone. That said I usually dip mine in hormone just to hedge my bets. Take pencil sized pieces, remove the bottom 1/3 of leaves, dip in hormone and stick in wet perlite or vermiculite. Then put them in a cool shady spot for a month. Plant the rooted stems in a protected area for a year or two and then transplant to a permanent home. Or you can take a branch and just stick it in wet soil. I've grafted dapple willow on top of a six foot black willow trunk that looks like a lollipop. RScott

ahhh touchy subject here! follow the propagation methods for any other plant and it just might work! dip it in rooting hormone to speed the process!
