My chia pet...?

Question:my chia pet is only growing hair in random chunks. did i do something wrong?! how do help him grow hair... all over..?!

Answers:
A) The seeds may not be spread evenly.
B) The seeds may have been spread evenly, but he may not have been watered enough, and some of the chia sprouts may have died after germinating. It's hard for this to happen because chia is a mucilaginous seed.
C) They are very old chia seeds and have a low germination rate.
In any case, just add more seeds to the blank areas, or for a more uniform coat, take all of the chia sprouts off and start over. Chia sprouts are good to eat, but the seeds that came with the chia pet may have been chemically treated, so I would avoid eating sprouts grown from those.
You can likely find more seeds at your local bulk retailer or health food store in the "sprouting seeds" section for much cheaper than ordering new ones from the company. And when your chia pet's hair starts to get lanky, you can eat it.

wait amd be patient
i think you didn't spread the seeds evenly. But that is OK because eventually the head will be full of hair. Good Luck! I love chia heads.
