Chilton rock is a very strong and versatile yet subdued and peaceable paver. This can be used to edge both paths and "marry" the two together, forming a bit of a patio effect.
Where they meet you can add a focal point as simple as a collection of potted annuals at varying heights or a magnificent self contained fountain that takes on a life of its own, inspiring you to add a bench or two just because it invites you to linger.
a little goldfish pond.

I would purchase a LARGE flower pot, a beautiful ceramic one if you can afford it, and plant some colorful flowers in it. Petunias come in all sorts of vibrant colors. Add some trailing vines and a variety of other plants in the container, ie. spike plant in the middle of the pot, coleus, dusty miller, etc.
Have Fun !
You don't mention the size of your little corner. My favorite landscaping technique is monkey grass (hardy, mostly evergreen, tolerates drought, sun, shade, whatever) and small boulders (you don't have to plant, water or fertilize them, and they don't die). This adds vertical interest to a flat intersection of 2 walkways and will naturally draw people down the walkway towards it. If your corner is a little larger, a shepherd's crook (the kind you hang baskets from) will add more vertical interest too.
