Help. I sprayed my vegetable plants with a water and soap solution to kill the aphids.now they are all dying.
Question:I mixed palmolive lemon antibacterial soap and water. I sprayed peppers, tomatoes, basil, cukes, zuchinni, strawberries, and eggplant.
Is there a way to reverse this?
Answers:
I wouldn't have used an antibacterial soap on a living plant. There is bacteria in the soil that exists to "fix" nitrogen and feed it to the plant. Without it, the plant dies.
It might be too late.
I have sprayed a solution like that on even my houseplants and none of them died! Try rinsing the stuff of with straight water might have to wipe them down with a rag if possible.
Hopefully they will recover ! Pls e mail me with the solution you put on maybe you used to much soap?
I would only use straight soap to kill insects on plants. With all the fancy soaps you never know if all the other additives are going to hurt a plant. Rinse well with water and see if they recover.
Did you spray the plants at dusk when the temps were cooler and the sun was not shining on the plants? Try to spray off the solution with water. I think that the plants will survive, depending on the damage done. This solution is best sprayed when the temps are cooler and the sun is not cooking the soap onto the plants.
rinse the plants and then water water water the soil beneath to see if you can dilute the antibacterial properties. Then add dry molasses to get the good bacteria growing again, water it in.
Good luck.
