Is it possible to overwater cedars?

Question:I've got two potted cedar bushes, and they are not doing so well since the end of winter. Droopy, "leaves" drying up and falling off despite frequent watering, which I am told cedars like. The pots drain well, the lighting is the same as some other cedars that are planted in the ground and doing fine.

Answers:
Cedars like well drained, moist loamy soils, not wet. In fact some cedars prefer dry sites. They all have a very good tolerance to drought. They have no tolerance of anarobic conditions (wet soils, no oxygen because it's displaced by water). You definitely can over water a cedar.

Do the pots have plenty of rocks or pebbles in the bottom for good drainage? Most like to dry out before being watered again. Could also be since they are in pots and not in the ground that they need repotted in bigger pots since they simply could be root bound in the pots. They need more dirt & room to grow.
