Does a tomato plant have to be pollinated to produce tomatoes?

Question:

Answers:
yes... u need more than 1... the more the better... bet the bees & wind... it will help it pollenate. I have 3 patio tom plants & have several tom. growin... Just like fruit trees.. u should have at least anthr OR know of someone in the neighborhood that has one. That way they pollenate.

u can pollenate it u'rself by taking a sponge & tapping gently into the flwr then going to the next & doing the same... kinda like a bee. I had a friend that would grow tom in his basements in the winter w/grow lts & that's what he would do .plus he made the bee sound... I really don't know if that helped. lol

yes, it's called cross-pollination.
Yes. In the absence of bees, you can hold a piece of paper under the blossoms and tap on the blossom and pollinate other plants by spreading the pollon over the other blossoms.
Yes, it has to be pollinated. It's best to try to plant the tomato's near one another, but not too close. That way it is easier for the plants to pollinate one another. It always helps (don't know if your into this kind of thing?) to keep some kind of pollinator, like bees, close by. This way you can be sure of pollination.
No,
yes and no ;; each tomato flower has its own male and female [tools] a gentle shake of the plant or a light breeze will do the trick. insects arent nescessary...MULE KICK.
one seed from one plant must meet with a seed from another...
Yes, the tomato plant must be pollinated to yield fruit. Tomato flowers are what is known as a complete flower it has both male and female parts you don't need more than one plant to get a tomato they will self pollinate, shake the flowers to help spread the pollen.
