When is the best time to water your lawn?
Question:what time during the day should your lawn be watered, and for how long?
Answers:
The best time to water would be early in the morning. it helps the ground absorb the water and you lose less to evaporation. You should water at around 5 in the morning for about half an hour. the time really depends on what kind of soil you have though. Don't over water because you can drown your grass and other plants.
I work in Garden at The Home Depot. The best time to water is very early morning. Around 3-4am. If you water at night then the water will sit and you can get lawn fungus resulting in yellow or dead spots. If you water in the heat of the day the the water on the blades acts like a magnifying glass burning the plant.
Depends on the season. In summer heat, definitely water early in the morning, preferably right before the sun comes up with the air is at its coolest. In the winter, to prevent the lawn from frosting over, water anytime between a couple of hours after sunrise to just before sunset.
Either morning or evening!Depends on when water is supplied in your locality!
Dear Giselle***
The best time is before 10.00am in the morning. If we had to water at 3.00am in the morning, no one would want to garden!
Water each side at the most half an hour. What type of lawn do you have??!!
I have kikuyu grass and in our heat I have to water three times a week to keep it thick and very green.
Once a month I scatter L.A.N. to keep the lawn healthy and pest free.
Pot plants in heat must be watered every day, water must run out the bottom of the pot.
