Is fertilizing a plant the same as feeding it?

Question:If you are supposed to fertilize a plant once a month, would giving it Miracle Gro be the same thing? Would it work instead?

Answers:
Essentially.

Please remember that what you use to fertilize your garden ends up in the aquifer and later on, your local rivers and bodies of water. Miracle-Gro and other chemicals like that add too much nitrogen that builds up algae from runoff. Use organic instead. Select bone meal, blood meal, fish emulsion, and organic feed for your plants.

It is kinder to the environment :-)

Yes it is the same thing, You can go and buy soil that already have fertilizer in them, it is much easier and last a couple of months. I also use Miracle Gro on my potted plants works good.
Yes fertilizers feed your plants. It works.
So does adding compost & enriching the soil. You can add potassium by digging in a banana peel.

Fertilizers supplement naturally occurring essential mineral elements in the soil to maintain an optimum supply for plant growth. Think of it as a quick & easy vitamine & mineral supplement for your plants.

Miracle-Gro's Bloom Booster 15-30-15 fertilizer would represent 15 percent nitrogen, 30 % phosphorus, and 15% potassium. It also has a small amount of Boron,Copper, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, & Molybdenum. The 30% phosphorus is what promotes more blooms.
