Growing Almonds from nuts?

Question:Our next door neighbour has an almond tree and I have lots of nuts which have fallen in our garden. Is it possible to grow an Almond tree from these and if so has anyone got any tips for doing this. No silly answers about nuts please.

Answers:
If the almond tree is near by you ,ask your your neighbour for a small piece of branch and then you use a bit of growing hormones powder to stimulate a root and plant into a pot for a while and this should work . Let us know!

Just guessing really, but I would expect if you crack the nutshell and plant it, it should grow. If you do this with a lot of them you should get some success. Good luck.
soak the entire seed in a cup of water for 18 to 24 hours, plant them about two inches down, wait for new growth to appear and treat em as u would any other plant! they will take at least two years or more to produce nuts! don't fertilize them, let em grow naturally for a year or so! good luck
Never done it with an almond but certainly works with walnuts. Plant the nut about 1.5 inches deep and put a bit of chicken wire or similar on top to keep squirrels from digging it up. Then just wait for nature to do the rest.
good luck.
Nuts to you! How do you think I should know that? I tried to grow a peach tree from a peach nut.
