The rain is making my flowers rotten, should I pull them off?

Question:

Answers:
The purpose of a plant is not to look pretty for us, it is to reproduce itself, hence bright coloured flowers to attract insects which pollinate the flowers thus producing seeds which will germinate, sustaining the species. So the answer to your question is YES by all means, carefull deadheading will make the plant think, 'I have to make more seed', it then produces more flowers for our enjoyment, and its survival. It also keeps the plants looking tidy and healthy

Yes, take off all rotten and decaying flowers, known as 'dead heading', as this stops the mold etc. spreading to healthy plant parts. It also allows the plant energy to focus on making more new flowers, rather than seeds: if they're annual, their goal is to flower and make seeds that year - stop the seed making, and you make them produce more flowers to achieve it. A similar strategy works for perennials too, as they want to flower and seed each season.
