How much are you paying per hour for the average gardener??
Question:i seem to be paying extortionate amount for my gardener and just wondered how much others are paying...live in blackpool,lancs.. any decent gardeners out there??
Answers:
depends what kind of work they are doing..for grass cutting, about £6-7 per hour is fine. For actual gardening/landscaping maybe up to £9 per hour for good ones. tree surgeons and those who cut hedges etc. usually charge a lot more, sometimes up to £15-20 per hour, although they also bring their own equipment and take away all of the tree/clippings.
for an average gardener i would say that you should not be paying more than about £8 per hour.
I live in Kent - they range from about £8 per hour to £15 per hour where I am.
£8.50
I pay an hourly rate of £6.00 ...i dont live in blackpool though . .try advertising through your local paper
since we stay in Africa where labour is really cheap what you paying for an our we may be paying for a month
Jim - I have just sat and answered your question about
YOUR employer charging £15.00 an hour when you only
get £6.00 of it for doing the work, and how unfair it is!!
Make your mind up.
You could have asked to going rate for a gardener instead
of making up stories!!!
£8.00 per hour seems reasonable
I am paying £14.00 for a "gardener" to cut an area of grass that only takes him about half an hour!! But I couldn't get anybody cheaper that actually turns up. I live in Warwickshire.
Seems to me the more you shop around (if you have the time) the better value for money you get. But if you have spare time to shop-around. . it means you have time to do it yourself, and that is the cheapest price there is.
