What is an Index stopcock on a sprinkler system and how do you repair it?
My sprinkler system won't switch zones. My neighbor told me that it be probably my index valve. This is suppose to be an automatic spigot that uses back pressure to switch from zone to zone automatically. I own a well pump that provides wet to the system and was wondering if the spout would be close to the pump? How easy is it to repair or replace this type of spigot?

There should be a box within your crawl-space or close to the back-flow for your irrigation system. This box will hold the main controls - afterwards there are smaller boxes in the vicinity this for the individual zone controls. These all hold wires that go final to the control box, so you can trace the wire out of the digital display wager on to the control box and see the valves in attendance. If you or a neighbor saw the installation, they can get you into the nouns. For my system, the main stopcock control box is about three foot out from the backflow - just into the grassland area - and have a rectangular green plastic lid that the lawn have over-grown somewhat. Just out from that are three circular green plastic tops that open into the zone controls. You would be looking for the bigger box possibly outside where on earth you water nouns and backflow are and these may be near your control box or out nearer your street hookup if you enjoy a separate meter for the irrigation system.
