Pummelo (a large citrus fruit) Question? First batch of fruit this year when do i harvest it? also?


Question:Why does the fruit have scaring or decay in little patches on the fruit.? is this bugs? Should I spray it?

Oh, luck you! I had a dwarf in the yard and my son ran it over with the lawn mower.claims he didn't know he ran it over, but once you break a citrus twig you can smell it..can't imagine what the whole tree smelled like!

Anyway...back to your question - like other citrus, you'll know it's ready when it comes right off the tree without pulling or hesitation. i like to gently shake my trees and pick up the fruit that falls.

As for bug or potential bugs, unless you don't mind chemicals, I'd just give it a good once over with a hard spray of water. Do this every week when you water and it will help keep your tree free from bugs.
