Question:of a leaf,you will die of a heart attack. is this true? As a child and teen, I remember a man up my street that had lots of elephant ears and his wife died one day.Then a year later the lady next door to him died, then the lady across the street. The 3 men were all friends.Kind of strange as I think back on this.

So, a heart attack? No. But suffocation, yes, it's possible.

The part that is poisonious is the "juices". If the plant is broke apart where the "juices" get out then yes it can be dangerous if consumed. I don't believe they cause heart attackes though.
Do they eat a lot of poisonous plants in your street ? Avoid all contact with this plant, particularly keep it away from children and pets. Better still ,put it in the dustbin.
