How can i get my lawn green again?

Question:Our lawn was looking pretty good but started to get yellow spots so i put down fertilizer and now it looks awful, how can i repair it?

Answers:
WATER! if you fertilized this time of year, you have probably done some damage. Water thoroghly and your grass may spring back. by thoroughly, I mean at least an inch of water per week!

Further, you could have insect/disease issues this time of year. Fertilizer won't help that.

Try watering first, then look into pests..

paint it
I had a similar problem, and put down an organic compost. It took a couple of months, but my lawn greened up. If you have a local place, you might have your soil checked and see what the Ph balance is.
Fertiliser alone can burn the grass if there is insufficient water around. Once burned it needs time and water to come back. Good idea to rake the lawn well to aerate the roots, water well once a week in summer and dont shave too close. Try and maintain a 3 to 4 cm length of grass.
Wait for a good rain or, mix fertilizer with Epsom salts, and sugar. Spread before noon. Then, water it with, a can of beer, children's shampoo, molasses, all in warm water and add some household ammonia on the top. Spray this formula on the lawn every three weeks. Your lawn will get slippery but it works! xxx
It sounds like you burnt it..
Too much fertilizer.
You must water it a lot..
I would start watering it twice a day.
In the early morning, and again in the evening.. See how that goes, You might be able to revive it again...
