Do cucumber plants need pollination?

Question:I have a bird net over the top of my newer cucmber plants, I'm not sure if bees can get in or not. Do they need to? Thanks!

Answers:
Yes, they need to be pollinated.

Anything that is interested in the flower will pollinate. I've never known flies to be interested, though.

It is possible to hand-pollinate. You can use a q-tip, or even your finger.

All plants need to be pollinated. There are many ways for plants to be pollinated though. Birds, bees, moths, butterflies, wind and even human manipulated pollination. If the netting is large enough then you don't need to worry. Remember, bees are not very big!
