Has anyone heard of hydrogen peroxide use in a watergarden? If so, what does it do?

Question:

Answers:
Hydrogen peroxide is supposed to convert to dissolved oxygen. It is also supposed to inhibit new algae growth; one way to introduce hydrogen peroxide into your pond is by using barley straw. You must do this BEFORE you see algae; it won't kill existing algae. I have never personally known anyone who had success with barley straw in their pond, though. I'm going to read up on this, as I have a pea-green pond right now and my usual methods aren't clearing it!

It prevents mold.
Never heard of it...I would think that it takes care of the scum growth. I could be wrong though!
never heard of that.
have never heard of using peroxide in a pond. if you are trying to rid your pond of algae this is what I have done after years of using chemicals and barley bundles. i have gotten a UV light system that the water passes through before entering the filter system, then the water returning to the pond.
