Plants going yellow?
Question:the plants in my veg patch have all started to go yellow and stunted after awhile of being in there. can any one help?
Answers:
you don't say if all the plants are going yellow or just certain ones ie veg plants with rooted crops or with top crop . it could be down to to much water but i do doubt that they would need to totally immersed in water for the roots to starve of oxygen . it sound more like a light problem . is garden to shaded . if get light in to garden . old mirrors work really well sounds daft but if does work . have you used any type of chemical lately as one spray does not do all plants . and finally do you feed say only once a week . as over feeding can be as bad as under feeding and did you water on a hot day as this will scorch leaves . if you have not feed them give them some pelleted poultry manure , throw on like slug pellets they are great . and finally remember that most slug pellets contain massive amounts of salt and are really not a gardeners best mate . so go easy or better use some beer traps slugs die happy . hope this will help
Over watering - maybe down to the rain if you are in the UK
To much water, its all the rain we have had, you could try digging a fork inbetween the plants to make holes to help the drainage
you're overwatering. plants generally only need to be watered once a week, possibly twice, depending on how dry they are.
This can mean two things:
1. two much water
2. most people don't know it but also...
lack of vitamins!
go buy some vegetable food!!
