How do the foggers for mosquitoes work that you buy from lowes or homw depot?
Question:
Answers:
foggers of any type work on the following principals,
first, the fog is ULV or partical size that is very very small, that has the ability to hang in the air for a long period.
the fog has the ability to penetrate dense follage (where they hang out during heat periods... heat will kill them they have to remain in cool, moist areas) to kill them
the fog has the ability to spread, (you need to read the instructions. the commerical units spread 300 feet to either side when driven at 20 miles an hour in low wind (less than 5 miles an hour)
it also does not kill eggs, or larva
?idk
they work..but not for long
You can also buy a solution that you water into your lawn...like from a miracle grow sprayer...
They release a chemical (carbon monoxide or dioxide, I believe) into the air by burning propane, which naturally repels mosquitos.. It's pretty effective, I've seen them at work before and mosquitos will avoid your yard like the plague. You only need one of these if you live near a swamp, really, otherwise you'll be fine with some citronella candles and a little DEET. :-)
THEY ARE SOOO MUCH FUN!!!
They use propane to heat an element.
The poison passes through the element, is quickly heated, and it turns to fog! The fog will settle on standing water and get into the bushes to kill mosquitoes.
You can also light the steam on fire, and make a FLAME THROWER! (very cool)
A fogger will lay down a huge white smoke cloud of chemicals that will kill all bugs. Some people find the cloud uncomfortable.
I think there are also some traps that use propane to simulate humans, and this attracts mosquiotos and traps them.
dont use those! get the coils i brake them off put it in an ash tray leave a window open 1 inch they go out but not in use insect candles and the coils
