Can you kill a plant by taking cuttings?

Question:I've justtried to takecuttings from 2 of my plants but I'm scared that they'll die because some of the stem of the mother plant got stripped..

Answers:
No they should be fine, I do this regularly. Be careful when you cut and put the cutting in a glass of water until the roots come through.

dont take off too much thats all
As long as you didn't take too much off and they can still transport water from the roots, then they should be fine.
not knowing if it is an indoor or outdoor plant it is hard to say, but most plants can have cutting taken from them.
I think that if the mother plant is strong & healthy,it shouldn't be a problem.Just don't take too many.
As long as you have leaves left on the plant it should be alright. The stripped stem will callous over but it doesn't matter because no new growth will come from that part. All new growth will come from the junction at the next set of leaves (called the node).
heck i aint sure i know that if i just look at a plant i can kill it,, me and plants dont get along at all lmao
Done cottectly, taking cuttings can actually strengthen the donor plant. Just don't take too much and use a sharp blade.
Yes it can, just never remove more than around 1/4 of the leaves, the plants need em to survive, but if you do not remove more than that no it is highly unlikely it will kill them
No,there shouldn't be any problem, plants are a lot hardier than we think,a while ago I had a shamrock in the house,I thought that it had died,in desperation I cut all the dead leaves and stalks off, nothing happened,I put it out of the house on a shelf near the shed,it was left out all over winter, come spring it sprouted again, it never looked better than it did then, this just goes to show that you can do almost anything to some plants
No, you can't kill a plant by taking cuttings - they have a nutural desire to survive, only a very few species can't cope with cuttings You will, however be able to kill the cutting through damping off, under/over watering - have fun try all sorts of plants and see what you grow well!
i always take a lot of cuttings of most of my plants but ive never ever had any die on me just dont cut too low
