What is the best electric line trimmer?
Question:Looking for best balance of price and quality for an electric line trimmer. I don't want a gas trimmer for various reasons. I haven't had luck with sites like bizrate for reviews. I'd like to hear from users/owners.

black and decker are very good.and the company stands behind them.they aren't overly heavy either. they out sell the other brands.

Since you're looking for a trimmer to cut down weeds without having to dig them up, look for the trimmer that you can use the heaviest trimming line on. Look around at the different stores that garden equipment is sold, or better yet, ask a gardener that you might see doing gardening work, what type of trimmer he has, or what he would suggest you use. They are the best people to tell you because they depend on their equipment for their livelihood
Homelite trimmers are the best on the market.
Try Home Depot. They sell lots of electric trimmers.
Toro and Black & Decker both make a model in the 100 dollar range. Both use .065 line which is about as heavy as you can get. If your weeds are thick stemmed, you will have to chew through them slowly. There isn't a trimmer on the market that will blast through weeds. Get out more often and get them before they seed!
