Hanging Baskets- how to make them longer and fuller. . ?

Question:Okay I have 2 hanging baskets, don't ask me what for flowers they are but my mom told me if I give them miracle grow they'll eventually look fuller and longer like the huge ones you see hanging at Agway n' such. I've been giving them miracle grow and they've gotten somewhat bigger but not much- any real way to speed up the process? I was thinking about the time I was at the fair and saw the huge pumpkins and somebody told me they got that big because they fed them milk through their veins er whatnot but I don't think I want to go that extreme. . . : / Any ideas?

Be nice- - I use to be in Horticulture but you'd never guess it lol

Answers:
Water - Sun - CO2 - Fertilizer (Hi nitrogen for leaf growth) - and some oxygen for the roots.

Without knowing which plants you are planting its hard to say but I would suggest you put the basket in the sunniest position possible and switch from miracle grow to a high nitrogen fertilizer which will encourage leafy growth rather than blooms.

I'd snip, snip snip--give them a little hair cut with scissors--prune them every so slightly every couple of weeks. Make sure you pick off all the dead blossoms.
change the soil, could help and mix water crystals in too. Sometimes it can be as easy as moving the baskets to a another location in the yard.
