On a new Oct. Glory Maple tree the top 24 inches of the main branch is leaning a lot. Is this a worry?

Question:This tree was just planted. Will the top grow straight now that it is not with a bunch of nursery trees. The tree is 10 feet tall.

Answers:
Yes, But you must train the tree to grow properly, by placing anchor rods in the ground away from the tree atleast two feet or so, and then tie string; preferably masons string to the rod and to the center most part of the sapling trunk, place at least three training rods in a triangle all the way around it. You do this in order to keep the tree from naturally leaning toward the southern most exposure to sun light, thus...the tree grows strong and true.

Hope this helps, Good luck!
