What flowers do well indoors?

Question:I want to put some in my room.

Answers:
When choosing plants for a particular indoor location, you must assess the light and temperature that the plant will be exposed to. Also be aware if it's a location subject to draft conditions.

If the plant is a flowering plant it may require certain conditions in order for it to repeat flowering.

I would say that light is probably the most important factor in indoor gardening. Most indoor plants are classified by high, medium and low light conditions.

The following are a list (by no means complete) of plants which are good starters for indoors:

Aspidistra elatior - Cast Iron Plant
Crassula argentea - Jade Plant
Dieffenbachia amoena - Dumb Cane
Ficus elastica - Indian Rubber Tree
Sansevieria trifasciata - Snake Plant

ivys usually do well indoors, i like englisg ivies, be sure to hang them up though.
Ones that the stores sell indoors or say "Indoor Plants"
African Violets, and they are really pretty, and come in several colors.
Impatience seem to do well indoors! I have two pots that I have wintered for two years now! They are huge ! I put them on my front porch during the summer and in a south facing window during the winter!
If you are able to place your plants close to the window so they get some natural lighting, I agree that African Violets should do well for you. If your plant is going to be placed a bit back from the window, perhaps a Spathophilium. It is available in a solid green leaf as well as a varigated variety, so even when it is not flowering, it is still an attractive plant for low light situations.
Flowering:
Gardenia
African Violets
Orchids
Begonias
Peace Lily
Christmas Cactus

Non flowering:
Philodendron
Spider ivy
English Ivy
Jade plant
Various Cacti
Pitcher plant
Venus fly trap
