What kind of plant/flower would work in an oceanfront flower bed---in full sun?
Question:I have a condo that is bayfront with a flower bed in front of the patio, i would like to have some pretty plants there, it is full sun, moderate wind.

Well, I live in Southern California and the best plant for your situation is called Sea Lavender.
It loves full sun, does its best near the coast, and it has beautiful purple/blue flowers. When planted in numbers the color is outstanding! No real pests and can withstand wind and drought, although it keeps tidy looking if regularly watered.
You can purchase them at most Home Depots, Lowe's etc. Not expensive and very rewarding

If I lived where you live I would plant Rugosa Rose. They love the sun and are pretty tough. Some varieties will bloom once for about a month, while others will flower on and off all season. They are often found near dunes, so they lend themselves well to seashore and bay areas.
Another nice feature is that they will produce what is called "hips" in the Fall. They resemble smooth berries and are so colorful at that time of year!
I think you will love this plant.
