Tomato plant not producing much?
Question:We have our plant in a 5 gal bucket with a cage around it. We used the miracle grow potting soil. It is getting the flowers but they don't seem to be doing anything. We only have 2 tomatos so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It could be a few different things. You may not have enough bees to do the pollinating for you - get a small, soft paintbrush and "paint" your flowers to pollinate them. Don't use a wet paintbrush or the pollen will stick to that instead of the other flowers. It may not be getting enough sun light where it is. They need a minimum of 6 hours per day to do their best. It could also be that it's in a container. Tomatoes really like to spread their roots, so growing it in a container can hamper the production of fruit. You will still get some, but not nearly as much as if it were in the ground. If you can't put it in the ground... perhaps a bigger container? Try this link... it's not specifically about growing in containers, but will still give you some helpful pointers:

Good luck and happy gardening!! :o)
Direct sunlight and heat?
How about water? If you're overwatering it, can you let it go a day without watering it, without it dying? If you can let it go a day without watering, try that.
Maybe they need insects to pollinate them? I had one plant inside once and i used a soft painter's brush..would dip it into a flower roll it gently around and then put it into another flower to transfer pollen from one blossom to another. It worked for me.
It sounds like a light problem... They need 8 hours of sunlight per day. The soil you bought should provide for enough nutrient for the season.
