How do you get rid of seedling prickly grass?

Question:u can google a picture of if you need to but i really need help this stuff is very very very annoying

Answers:
I think what you are speaking of is spurge. It is quite hard to get rid of but the best products in my area are called weed free zone and 2-4-D. They have to be sprayed in the early spring before the pricklies actually develop. It may take several sprayings. I have found out by accident and this sounds completely silly but.as I fertilize my grass in the late spring early summer the grass thickens (not really thick) the pricklies seems to die out. But they will be back next year without the chemicals...maybe some with the chemicals.but less.

water it
If you find a better way let me know...I just walk around spraying it it weed killer, then I go back and dig it out. You really have to get all of the root. The problem I find is that the roots can sometimes be huge.
the comment above me talked about spurge.if its prickly its not spurge. Spurge will have a milky substance come out of the plant if you break one of the stems. What i think your talking about is your common thistle. And if your try to dig it up you will just see it a month later when it grows back. Do not pull any weeds. Typically you not get all the roots, so your just delaying the return of new weeds. Even if you think you got it all, i can assure you it will be back. Spurge will be more commen along the driveway and sidewalks where it gets really hot. And you will only see that in the summer when its dry and hot. If you had this weed in the spring, then its just thistle. A very easy weed to control you just have to stay on top of it. Go out and buy a bottle of weed-b-gone. Dont go soaking the weed but read the directions and have it at. But retreat when the directions say its ok to.
