Answers:
My skin doctor told me once that a couple factors play into it.
The first really depends on the person theirself and their genes.
The second depends on what you eat. Try avoiding sugars, chocolate and greasy foods. It's really good to avoid soda.
Basically, pimples are infections. They can happen because a skin pore gets clogged or for various other reasons such as an ingrown hair.
Also, the sun can help reduce your amount of acne. Friends of mine that sun tan say their pimples/acne dramaticly descreases when they sun tan.
I've found that my acne reduces when I avoid drinking as much soda and especially when I wash my face with acne pads that have salacylic acid. Normally I find the pads with the highest concentration of salacylic acid. Normally that is like 2% I think. Doesn't really matter what the brand is, just the concentration level of that as the active ingredient.
Also make sure not to pop your pimples, that can spread the infection to other areas of your skin. If you do, you need to make sure to clean your face right away.
Lastly, since pimples are a form of infection a skin doctor can prescribe you an antibiotic to help fight the acne.
I have a friend that is a doctor, and he said that relating skin acne to food was bogus. But I think relating it to food does have some merit.
Wash your whole body with Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash, concentrating on the areas with pimples. Wait a minute or so before rinsing to get rid of all the oil, and to let the medicine sink in and do its work.
Exfoliate by using an abrasive sponge (Buf-Puf is one brand name) or a loofa (plastic pouf "washcloth" that looks like a white mesh ball). Don't scrub too hard, or you'll increase irritation.
Moisturize with an oil-free, medicated lotion, such as Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer.
Spot treat with acne medication cream. Since you are already using salicylic acid to wash and moisturize, use a different medicine for spot treatment, such as 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Do not use a 5% or 10% benzoyl peroxide, because this will increase irritation without increasing the rate at which the pimples diminish. (If you're sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, sulfur may work.)
Stay in the beach water for about 5 minutes with your whole back under.
Lay flat on your stomach with your bare back facing the sun until your back feels hot for about 10 minutes.
Keep alternating these steps about 4-6 times. The next day, you should see results. For really strong acne, do it 3 days in a row.
Why are you asking this in the Hone & Garden section? Are wanting to harvest your acne, or is your body type a landscape?
Seems a funny question in the Garden. Do you always find zits on your body between the corn rows?
Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/... for more useful info.
