My marigold is still flowering since last summer and it just keeps getting bigger?
Question:has anyone had a similar experience? another one from the same batch is almost as big but it stopped flowering through the winter. Fair enough they are in a sheltered spot but they are turning into shrubs not plants lol.
Answers:
if u planted them early enough that first season then this is normal! it had the whole summer to get established and somewhat turn from an annual to a perennial.. which is a good thing cuz now u don't have to buy any more marigolds. try to collect seeds when they're formed and plant the seeds elsewhere to expand ur collection!
I bought some last year and snails in my garden ate them all! Put some more in at the weekend, they look lovely!
Mine all died off in the winter. You must have a really healthy one in just the right spot. It would be intersting to see how big it will grow!
Well, good old Marigold! It must be very happy!
I once made up a story about a poppy that did that and then a little egg grew out of it that hatched to a be a baby... don't have me sectioned, it's late! Good luck with your marigolds!
wow, I am so jealous!! I love marigolds, and mine never last past fall. Could you possibly cut it back? You must live where there aren't any hard frosts. I deadhead mine, and they stay pretty small. Maybe if you just cut it back hard, it will grow compact and smaller?? Good luck!
i'm jealous i love marigolds have to replant them every spring you must live in a climate that allows year round growing seasons
