My plout three produces tons of flowers, but not a single fruit. Why?
Question:
Answers:
Flowers not producing fruit can be a number of factors, most obvious would be that they are not getting pollinated. There is a product called BEE SCENT that you can apply to your tree and it is supposed to attract bees.
You could also have soil deficiencies that are causing the flower to fall off prior to any fruit setting, regardless if it has been fertilized or not.
Start with the easiest problem to fix. Contact a bee keeper and ask if you can have them place hives nearby to help with pollination.
Get a soil kit and test your soil and fertilize according to the results.
It takes a few years for fruit trees to mature. I'd return to the nursery where you bought the tree and ask for advice. Pick a bloom off of the tree to show the owner.
It's also possible you have a sterile tree or one that is past maturity.
What kind of tree is that? I "googled" plout tree and came up with nothing.
Well, as everyone knows, the plout three isn't capable of producing fruit unless its pollinated by a wild dingledorf. Remember, the dingledorfs you keep around your yard just won't do-it has to be a WILD dingledorf. They can usually be captured in their natural habitat, which is, of course, the salt flats of the Okeefenokee swamp. Rumor has it that dingledorfs can be lured into non-lethal traps with either black shoe polish or coffee grounds. Just remember, if you use coffee grounds they have to be at least a little moist. Dingledorfs aren't stupid and they wont fall for dry grounds.
Once you capture a dingledorf you can Fed-Ex him home. Don't forget to put plenty of Coke bottles(glass, not the newer plastic ones) and beer can tabs in the box with him. You want to keep him on his natural diet so he will be in the right frame of mind to pollinate your plout three once he arrives at your house. I'm not going to get into how to pollinate-everybody knows that. Hope this helped.
