How do I get rid of mushrooms on my lawn?
Question:I live in NE Wisconsin, and There is one small patch of mushrooms that won't go away
Answers:
Mushrooms do not normally damage grass or other plants. The only problem is aesthetic. In fact, fungi are decomposers, breaking down thatch and other dead matter; they can make nutrients more available to plants. So if you can, just live with it. If you find it unsightly or are concerned about toxins, one solution is to just mow or break off the mushrooms.
Currently the only product available to discourage mushrooms is Consan 20. If using Consan 20, please consult an expert at the nursery where it's sold for directions.
dry them out, then eat them, and once you start seeing things make the magical wizard that appears before you banish them to the netherworld forever!
i live in wisconsin so i can relate. just go to a lawn and garden center and ask the clerk and he'll lead you to the right stuff.
fungicide
Mushrooms and puffballs not associated with a fairy ring may appear in lawns, especially after heavy rains. These are feeding on organic matter in the soil. Some may have a foul odor, some may be poisonous. Eventually the food source will be depleted.
If many mushrooms appear in an area, dig up and remove the buried organic matter. If children or pets contacting the mushrooms are a concern, break or mow off the mushrooms when they first appear.
