How do i get rid of mushrooms in my lawn?

Question:

Answers:
The only way you are going to get rid of them is to hand pick them. They are there for a reason, and the reason being, is that there must be some form of rotting wood under the surface of the soil. Perhaps an old tree's root system is the culprit. The shrooms feed off of the decaying and rotting wood. A fungicide application will do no good, so the only way is to handpick them or remove the woody food source under the ground. Hope this answers your question...

Mushrooms and toadstools in your lawn should be treated as a trophy! They are signs of a fertle and adequately watered lawn. They pose no problem and eventually go away when the atmosperic conditions change. However if you notice the signs of fungus development such as grass pulling out of the root mass with little effort, a dark colored "fairy ring", or a grey sooty substance for just a few. Then you should cut back on the water and apply a fugicide which can be obtained at any lawn and garden store. If all you have is the mushrooms...make sure you point htem out to your envious neighbors as the Kudos they are!
If you feel you must get rid of the mushrooms, sprinkle the area with any powdered laundry soap. Water as usual, and they will disappear.
My local garden center suggests a golf club. Yup. Use the club to shove them away.
